Already February! How Time Flies!

Hello Friends,

Here we are rolling along into February already!  I know it’s cliché but I truly can’t believe how time flies!

January was certainly a busy month for The Sunroom Body Studio. I am happy to announce that I’ve added some extra days to my schedule including Saturday!  So my new opening hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Saturday 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.

There are only 2 appointment openings in February so if you’ve been wanting to book something please reach out to me by text at 613-362-1984 , Facebook Messenger, or my Fresha online booking by copying and pasting this link into your browser:

As promised, I’ve been working on some new ideas for The Sunroom, and beginning in February I am so excited to announce I have officially added a wonderful treatment combo to my menu.  It’s a combination massage and facial.  But this service is not simply a massage and then a facial.  The two are combined in a unique way that creates a single luxurious spa treatment that focuses on your wellness and relaxation.  The facial is a deep moisture indulgence for your skin, and the massage can be light and relaxing or deep and therapeutic, whichever is calling to you on the day.  And of course, the massage portion qualifies for an insurance receipt as always.

I’m calling this wonderful treatment The Sunroom Oasis.  The price will be $180.00, which is 10% off the two treatments if they were booked individually. If you’re booking an appointment online you can find this special pairing under either the massage category or the facial category.

And for anyone who books The Sunroom Oasis in the month of February I will also include a brow shaping at no charge which is a $25.00 value.

Reluctantly there are some price increases beginning February 1st.  I’ve done my best to keep these to a minimum. You will see the changes appear on your appointment confirmations and reminders.

And now I’d like to update you on my own personal self-care journey.  Last month I told you I was adding body brushing to my nightly routine, and here’s what I discovered: First, body brushing feels AMAZING and makes a noticeable difference in how the skin on my legs, arms and back looks and feels.  It’s an easy way to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin.  And did I say how great it feels?  One of the benefits of body brushing is the reduction of the appearance of cellulite.  My trial period wasn’t long enough to say if there is or will be any significant improvement in my own battle against cellulite.

Here's what I discovered about myself…I’m not very good at making body brushing part of my self-care routine lol!  Really, by the time I’m finished with my day I’m too exhausted do something like this…even something that I believe will help me and feels wonderful.  I wasn’t able to keep it up consistently enough to make any real difference. So what does that mean about me?  Nothing.  It doesn’t make me a failure, or lazy, or uncommitted.  It just means I’m a normal, tired, overworked human.

But it does make me think about a question that I am asked often by my clients…”What is the best skincare routine/skincare device for me?”  And my answer is always the same…”The one you will use.”  There are a million skincare devices out there (jade rollers, gua sha tools, microcurrent, light therapy, and on and on); and EVEN MORE skincare products and brands that insist on complicated and extensive (read expensive) routines.  With rare exceptions every single one of these devices and products will do SOMETHING for your skin.  But they often become too much trouble or expense to realistically continue for any length of time.

The truth is, the best thing you can do for your skin is find a simple routine that fits with your schedule using products that fit in your budget.  And if you feel like you would like to use some kind of device the same rule of thumb applies.  Something that doesn’t need electricity or is rechargeable can be used while you’re watching TV.  Just choose something you like and will use consistently and run with!  The most important message here is follow your routine EVERY DAY (or most days).

So what am I going to do for self-care in February?  I am spending two weeks in Heaven!  Actually, it’s the Dominican Republic, which is as close to Heaven as I’ve ever been.  This means the spa is closed from February 5th through February 17th.  Please note I won’t be able to receive texts or calls during that time but I will be checking emails and Facebook Messenger periodically while I am there.  However, please be patient if I take some time to reply as my goal is complete mental relaxation so I’m trying to take time away from my phone as much as possible.

Finally, I have the following appointments still available in February:

·        Friday February 23rd 6:00 pm

·        Wednesday February 28th 8:00 pm

Whew!  Is it just me or was that long one!  Thanks to everyone who made it all the way through.  Hope to see you soon!

Welcome to The Sunroom!

Kristin
